Street and Utility Improvement Project - Contract 1 , 2A and 2B

**As of March 08, 2023, project was awarded to D & M Excavating, Inc., awarded amount is $566,917.90.** CITY OF LA PORTE, INDIANA LETTERS & NUMBERS STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT CONTRACT 1 - TORINO POND OUTFALL AND SOUTH BASIN CONTRACT 2A - L&N WATER AND STORM SEWER CONTRACT 2B - L&N STREETS (2022-2 CCMG: DES. NO. 2201435) Any bids received later than the above time will be returned unopened. CONTRACT 1 consists of the furnishing of all equipment, labor and materials for improvements to the Torino Pond outfall and south basin, including: tree clearing and grubbing; excavation, hauling and offsite disposal of soil to construct new stormwater basins at the south and north ends of Torino Pond; installation of approximately 1,100 feet of 36-inch diameter storm sewer from 18th Street to Torino Pond, and from Torino Pond to the south basin; surface restoration; and all other related work and appurtenances. CONTRACT 2A consists of the furnishing of all equipment, labor and materials for the installation of new storm sewer and water main along various Letters & Numbers streets, including: tree removal; installation of approximately 4,600 feet of storm sewer (in sizes 8-inch to 36-inch diameter) and associated storm structures; installation of approximately 3,200 feet of ductile iron water main and replacement of services; replacement of curb and gutter, pavement and driveways in non-CCMG locations; grass and landscape restoration; tree replacement; and all other related work and appurtenances. CONTRACT 2B consists of the furnishing of all equipment, labor and materials for the re-construction of various Letters & Numbers streets, including: removal of existing roadway, sidewalk, driveways, curb and gutter and storm drainage pipe/structures; installation of approximately 700 feet of storm sewer (in sizes 8- inch to 12-inch dia.) and associated storm structures; construction of new concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways and curb ramps; construction of new asphalt pavement with new aggregate base and geogrid; pavement markings; and all other related work and appurtenances. Bidders may submit bids for either CONTRACT 1 ONLY, CONTRACT 2A & 2B (together) ONLY, or all CONTRACTS. CONTRACTS 2A and 2B will be awarded together to the responsive and responsible bidder with lowest total base bid for CONTRACTS 2A and 2B combined. CONTRACT 1 will be awarded separately to the responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest total base bid for CONTRACT 1 only. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form (Section 00300), and must be accompanied by Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, Certification Regarding Unauthorized Aliens, signed copies of Addenda (if issued) and satisfactory bid security. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of La Porte, Indiana or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price, will be required upon award of the contract. No bidder may withdraw his or her bid within a period of 30 days following the date set for receiving bids. The City of La Porte Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 30 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Board further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the City of La Porte, or to reject all bids.
