Description

The Cabell County Board of Education (Hereinafter referred to as Owner) invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bids to provide all Work, including but not limited to labor, material, equipment, supplies and transportation for A NEW DAVIS CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 1400 Riverview Drive, Barboursville WV All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Architect and this Invitation to Bid. Bidders are invited to submit an offer under seal to the Owner, in care of Deputy Superintendent, District Operations and Support, Tim Hardesty, Cabell County Schools, 2850 5th Avenue, Huntington WV 25702. A full description of the Project is found in the Summary Section 01 10 00 of the Project Manual. Bid Documents may be viewed at the office of the Architect (Edward Tucker Architects Inc., 1401 Sixth Avenue, Huntington WV 25701, tel. 304-697-4990) Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond in the amount of not less than 5% of the total amount bid, including all add alternates. The bond shall be on the form bound in the Project Manual. A Contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond each equal to one hundred percent of the Contract Price will be required for the successful Contractor. Other bidding requirements are described in the Project Manual. Bidder will be required to complete the Work (Substantial Completion) within 436 (four-hundred and thirty-six) calendar days from the date of commencement. As actual damages for delay in completion of the Work are impossible to determine, the successful Bidder (Contractor) and his Surety shall be liable for and shall pay to the Owner the sum of $2000, not as a penalty, but as fixed, agreed and liquidated damages for each calendar day of delay until the Contract Work is substantially completed as defined in the General and Supplementary Conditions of the Contract for Construction. All Prime Bidders MUST attend the pre-bid meeting to familiarize themselves with the Project location, site conditions and other relevant information. Should any Bidder fail to attend, their Bid will be disqualified. Submit offer on the Bid Form provided. Bidders will be required to submit offer under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 60 days after submission. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to re-advertise.
