US-166/ US-400: Reconstruct Interchange and 4 Lanes

Economic development potential for both US-69 and US-400 will be improved by providing better access to I-44. MoDOT has agreed to discuss their ability to fund a portion of the interchange improvements since a portion of this project is located in Missouri. This project is part of "Forward" is a new transportation plan that will address the state's transportation needs. The first items included in the new plan will be the nearly 25 projects that were suspended in the current 10-year plan, called T-Works. Project number: KA-1005-02 County: Cherokee Location: US-166/US-400: from 0.9 mi N of US-166/US-400 Jct, E & SE to 0.5 mi NW of KS/MO St Line Miles: 5.6 Scope: Construct a 4-Lane Freeway section from the US-166/US-400 junction, east to the US-166/K-26 Junction. Then construct a 2-Lane on 4-Lane Freeway section from the US-166/K-26 Junction, South and East to the end of the project. This project includes interchanges at US-166/US-400 and US-166/K-26. The 4-Lane Freeway section will be on an offset alignment. As of January 30, 2020 this project is in design. A designer is not identified. Bidding for contractor has not been established. Construction is scheduled for FY 2022.
