Description

Pinewood Drive west of Delta Boulevard and the adjacent residential properties on Villas Court NE historically flood during intense rainfall. The City investigated the cause of flooding in and around Pinewood Drive and determined that it is primarily due to structural failures in the downstream, privately owned and maintained stormdrain system between Pinewood Drive and John Knox Road in the Delta Office Park. The existing stormdrain system is mostly corrugated metal pipe, which has reached the end of its effective service life and will likely experience failures in the future. Consequently, a study was done, and it was determined that a new stormdrain outfall from Pinewood Drive to John Knox Road is needed to alleviate the flooding issues. The new outfall will run along Pinewood Drive, turn north and cross through a private parking lot at 2060 Delta Way, turn west on Delta Way continuing to John Knox Road where it will connect to the existing stormdrain system.
