Description | No bid package will be given out after this date. If you have any questions and/or need other pertinent information, please contact the Poarch Creek Indians Housing Authority at (251) 368-9136 ext. 2268. All interested parties must make a deposit of $100.00 for each set of Bidding Documents. The deposit shall be refunded in full if the documents are returned to the Housing Authority in usable condition within five (5) days after the time bids are received. The house to be constructed is funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Indian Programs. The work to be performed is subject to Section 7 (b) of the Indian Self Determination and Education Assistance Act (25USC 405 e (b). Section 7 requires that any contract or subcontract will give Indian preference to any company owned by a member of a federally-recognized Indian Tribe. All bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee which shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. This may be a certified check, bank draft, U.S. Government Bonds at par value, or a bid bond secured by a surety company acceptable to the U.S. Government and authorized to do business in the state where the work is to be performed. The Poarch Creek Indians Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding process. The Contractor shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. American Indian preference shall be offered to tribal member owned firms that are recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in accordance with Federal American Indian preference laws. Documentation is required. |
