Description | As of April 3, 2023, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the final planning phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it is anticipated bidding will commence in May 2023, with construction following. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Engineering Services Relative to HVAC System Upgrades at Chippens Hill Middle School and Ellen P. Hubbell Elementary School The City of Bristol (the City) and its Board of Education are seeking a qualified firm to prepare construction documents toward the installation of HVAC system upgrades at Chippens Hill Middle School, located at 551 Peacedale Street, and Ellen P. Hubbell Elementary School, located at 90 West Washington Street. Proposal submission documents are available from this website via the document link noted below. Funding for these projects is made available via American Rescue Plan Act/Elementary and secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP/ESSER) funds. All work shall assume incorporation of regulations and considerations associated with the use of said funds. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in any submission, to reject any and/or all submissions, and to accept the proposal that in its judgment is in its best interest. Interested firms are required to submit one original copy via digital media of the proposal to the Purchasing Department no later than the date and time noted above. Submissions may be made via email, shared file service, or USB drive; the City does not assume responsibility for failure of submissions to be received by the City by the date and time noted above. The awarded firm will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. The City anticipates a total budget of $6.9 million for work at Chippens Hill Middle School ("CHMS"), and a total budget of $1.6 million for work at Ellen P. Hubbell Elementary School (EPH). These budget values are inclusive of all hard and soft costs. All work shall assume incorporation of regulations and considerations associated with the use of said funds. |
