Description | The Contractor shall install four (4) bollards per plan. Bollard placement is approximate, however the first two initial bollards shall be placed on the east and west side of the handicap detection pad. The second bollard on either side of the detection pad shall be placed at a distance between 3'-5' from both the existing bollard and the newly installed bollard. Care should be taken to avoid any underground utilities or the previously removed bollards at grade. a. Concrete sidewalk shall be saw cut for new bollard install. 4" cement concrete patch for finished grade surface treatment. b. Remove and stack metal beam guardrail W-Beam panel and end treatment, reuse on Webster Ave. Remove and dispose of metal posts. c. Remove and dispose of three (3) existing concrete bollard covers. d. Furnish and Install seven (7) concrete security bollard covers with minimum 3" wall thickness. Design type shall be submitted and approved by the Assistant City Engineer or her designee. 6. Webster Ave Guardrail Install: Install +/-30 LF of TL-3 Guardrail with W-Beam. W-Beam panel and end treatment material to be relocated from Beacon Street off Ramp Bollard Install to Webster Ave Guardrail Install. Contractor to furnish and install posts. Existing sidewalk to be saw cut for post driving. 4" of sidewalk to be poured and placed following the driven post installation. 7. This contract for Sidewalk Pedestrian Safety Barrier Installation will be awarded only to a Contractor who is presently and primarily engaged in the business of performing guardrail and bollard installation. 8. By submitting a bid, the Contractor has agreed that he/she will provide any and all services, labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the Sidewalk Pedestrian Safety Barrier Installation. |
