Professional Planning and Consulting Services to Update the Galveston County Hazard Mitigation Plan

The proposed project will develop a Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) Update for Galveston County that meets the requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act (DMA) of2000, 44 CFR Part 201.6 and the most current Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) "how-to"{ planning guidance. The plan will meet the most current FEMA Local Mitigation Plan Review Tool requirements. In addition, the plan will be aligned with the 2018 State of Texas Hazard Mitigation Plan. The mitigation plan will include all required elements as defined by the FEMA Local Mitigation Plan Review Guide, such as a) planning process, b) risk assessment/vulnerability assessment, c) multiple hazard mitigation strategy, d) hazard mitigation plan maintenance process, e) additional state requirements, and f) hazard mitigation plan adoption and approval. The plan will meet or exceed the final rule for local mitigation planning found in 44 CFR, Section 201.6, in order to be approved by FEMA. In addition, the natural hazards assessed in the plan will coordinate with the current FEMA approved State of Texas Hazard Mitigation Plan and will adequately address all natural hazards with any probability of occurrence in the each participating district.
