Description

The City of Montrose comprehensive plan calls for the eventual extension of Hill Street as a minor arterial from where it currently ends up to Miami Road. The project being bid herein will implement the first phase of this extension (approximately 1,400 LF) up to Sunnyside Road. The road extension is taking place concurrent with development of the adjacent Woods Crossing Subdivision currently under construction on either side of the roadway extension. The City is also working on a separate capital project to extend a 1.8 mile long, 24 inch diameter HDPE water transmission main which follows the new Hill Street for a portion of its alignment. This work is being sequenced to construct the waterline in the Hill Street area first in order to open up the Hill Street extension work fronts as early as possible.
