The current project plans includes mastication of encroaching pinyon juniper woodland along Birch Creek. The project area consists of five polygons along the flanks of this creek that range in size from three acres to 58 acres. The project is focused on improving wildlife habitat and reducing wildfire risks for this area. Prior to any ground disturbing project, such as this project’s planned vegetation mastication, a class III cultural resources inventory must be completed. The inventory results and potential adverse effects to cultural resources must be consulted on with the Utah SHPO. Portions of the project area are found in the following Townships: Township 30 south, Range 6 west Access to the project areas should be straightforward from South Creek Road southeast of Beaver.
