2023 Tree Planting

To provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials and expertise required to perform tree planting work in the City of Upper Arlington, Ohio as specified herein. Since the work requires specialized expertise, it is to be performed by a company which derives the majority of its annual income from arboricultural or landscape work, and whose employees are trained and skilled in all phases of tree planting. Work performance history and references may be required by the City. This contract is for labor only: City to provide plant material. Trees are purchased from various nurseries, and the City does not control digging and balling techniques. Location: Work limited to public rights-of-way in the City of Upper Arlington. Work may also include occasional planting on other public properties in the City. A tentative list of trees and planting locations is attached. The City will provide a final list of trees/planting locations prior to planting each management area. Questions: clarifications or questions about this bid must be submitted and answered online via the IonWave the City's online bidding portal. Work Period: Working hours must be between 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding state and federal holidays. Weekend and holiday work may be permitted in writing only, under exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the Superintendent of Parks and Forestry. Spring Planting - Work begins approximately May 1, 2023 and is completed within twenty (21) working days of the start date, exclusive of inclement weather. Fall Planting - Work begins approximately October 23, 2023 and is completed within twenty (21) working days of the start date, exclusive of inclement weather.
