Phase III Construction Engineering Services for North Main Street Improvement

The project runs along Main Street just north of Crystal Lake’s downtown area. There is a Metra crossing by the Union Pacific rail line within the project limits, an adjacent train station near the crossing, and the project will impact a number of downtown businesses. Continuing to the north, the project enters a residential area with a large Crystal Lake Park District park where a new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Main Street and IL Route 176 with additional turn lanes. The project will be staged construction with detours on State routes during each stage. The construction scope of work includes: *Installation of 10” and 12” new water mains to replace existing 4” water main to improve hydraulic connections in the area. *Installation of water valves, fire hydrants, water services, and temporary line stops as needed throughout the project limits. *Storm sewer replacement along IL 176 and some locations along Main Street. *Installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of IL 176 and Main Street. *New northbound left turn lane and eastbound right turn lane. *Pavement widening, patching, and resurfacing within the project limits.
