Description

The work will be bid as A single overall contract (one lump sum for all trades),Separate contracts for each of the major branches of the work as specified in N.J.S.A 18A:18A-18, or Both of the above. Bids shall be made on the proposal form provided and in the manner designated, shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope, with the name and address of the bidder and the project name or bid number noted on the outside, and must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check or bid bond payable to the East Brunswick Board of Education in an amount equal to ten percent of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00. The Board of Education shall not be responsible for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the opening of bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive minor bid defects. Bidding shall conform to applicable requirements of the Public School Contracts Law, N.J.S.A.18A:18A-1, et seq., and all other applicable laws and regulations. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. This project is ___ is not _X_ subject to a grant agreement between the School District and the NJ Schools Development Authority pursuant to Section 15 of the Educational Facilities Construction and Financing Act, N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-1 et seq. For projects subject to said grant agreement, the Bidder and all its Subcontractors named in the branches specified in N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-18 who will perform work on the School Facilities Project must be prequalified prior to the submission of any bids pursuant to the Schools Development Authority prequalification process unless the Contract is in an amount less than the bid threshold pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-3. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation or sex. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction in the following category; pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-27, et. Seq. (C008) GENERAL CONSTRUCTION (C009) GENERAL CONSTRUCTION / ALTERATIONS / ADDITIONS Bidders and subcontractors for each of the major branches of the work as specified in N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-18, if any, and all other specialty trade subcontractors required by these specifications, must be prequalified by the NJ Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction and shall have a valid Classification effective as of the date of the bid opening. COVID-19 Vaccination/COVID-19 Testing--Executive Order #253 Effective October 18, 2021, all school districts must maintain a policy on COVID-19 Vaccination and COVID-19 Testing for covered workers. All contracted service providers submitting bids/proposals to the board of education are requested to review Executive Order #253 as issued by Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey. Payments for bidding documents are non-refundable except as provided by N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-36(b).
