Description | The proposed work includes: A shared use concrete path will be constructed with lighting, contrasting concrete stamped buffer, curb and gutters, storm sewer inlets with closed drainage pipe structures, and cross walk facilities. The typical shared use path pavement cross section shall include a 7' wide concrete shared use path, 3' wide stamped brick buffer strip, 4.5' wide curb and gutter, and a saw cut to define a clean the existing shoulder on High Ridge Boulevard. A cross walk will cross High Ridge Boulevard at Community Lane to provide pedestrian and bicycle access from the shared use path to High Ridge Elementary School. Street lighting will provide ambient light for both High Ridge Boulevard and the shared use path using decorative multi globe light standards on poles. The total project length is 4,505 ft. Work shall be in accordance with the provided Specifications, Job Special Provisions, and Plans. Where not specifically covered by the Specifications, or Job Special Provisions or Plans, the Contractor shall adhere to the currently effective 2023 Edition of the "Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction", and the currently effective "MoDOT Standard Plans for Highway Construction." The contractor shall have a maximum of One Hundred Sixty ( 160) Working days to complete the project, or a Completion Date of December 31, 2024 - whichever shall come first. All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work, of a similar character in this locality, as established by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate) or state wage rate, whichever is higher. Jefferson County, Missouri hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. All bidders must be on MoDOT's Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2023 Edition. The contractor questionnaire must be on ~i~e 7 days prior to bid opening. Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on any public works project must provide a minimum 10- Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. A cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal. A certificate of insurance shall be submitted with each proposal. All bids shall be made on the forms provided. Three (3) copies of the bid must be submitted, one (1) being original inked. Jefferson County, Missouri reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the bids received, and to award the contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder ,with MoDOT concurrence.
