Description

Project Number: 921110 This project consists of Renovation to existing building and new construction of a +/- 3,600 SF apparatus bay and site work. The total Contract Time will be 270 consecutive calendar days and the liquidated damages will be $500 per consecutive calendar day thereafter The Jackson County Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises/woman business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. For sealed bids, a certified check payable to the order of Jackson County Board of Supervisors or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety, must be submitted in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. All bids submitted in excess of $50,000 by a prime or subcontractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance or related work, must comply with Section 31-3-21, Mississippi Code of 1972, by having a current Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Public Contractors. The current Certificate of Responsibility Number shall be indicated on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope before it can be opened. Award will be made to the lowest and best bidder and the Jackson County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bids may be held for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date ofthe opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. This project will consist of the following general scope of work. This description is provided for convenience purposes only and shall not be considered all inclusive. It is the general contractor's responsibility to become fully famliar with the existing conditions, review all of the construction document drawings, specifications, and any additional information documents in their entirety and bring forth any and all questions regarding scope confusion, misinterpretations, and/or possible errors and omissions to the Architect and/or Engineer prior to bid submission and/or start of construction. 1.
