Description | A 2 to 3-foot tall concrete Lamprey Barrier will be installed in the LaPlatte River in Shelburne, Vermont to prevent upstream migration of invasive and predatory sea lamprey. The project is located just downstream of Falls Road Bridge.US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is currently seeking competitive bids to build the concrete barrier and complete associated site work. Project construction is anticipated in late Summer and Fall of 2021. Site recovery work may extend into Spring 2022. Work tasks will generally involve installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls; water control to divert water around the construction area; installation of cast-in-place concrete barrier on bedrock; site access; and site restoration. |
