Description | The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District (NAB), has been tasked to solicit for and award construction services for Bridge Painting and Concrete Repair at Indian Rock Dam, Fosters J. Sayers Dam & Curwensville Dam in Pennsylvania. The proposed project will be a competitive, firm-fixed-price, contract procured in accordance with FAR 14, Sealed Bidding, via an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The purpose of the proposed action is broken down by location: Location 1 - Indian Rock Dam: Surface preparation and application of a new coating system to the Indian Rock Dam Spillway Bridge. Surface preparation includes removal of the existing coating system including lead-based paints. Location 2 - Foster J Sayers Dam: Surface preparation and application of a new coating system to the Foster J Sayers Dam Service Bridge. Surface preparation includes removal of the existing coating system including lead-based paints. In addition, the large concrete spall area in the north face of the gate structure shall be repaired. Concrete repairs of large spall area in the gate structure (Tower) concrete, below corbel. Work includes identifying extent of delaminated and unsound concrete, removing concrete, and preparing surface and reinforcing rebar. Patching material shall be a two component, polymer-modified, cementitious non sag, shrinkage compensated trowel grade mortar with corrosion inhibitor that has a coefficient of thermal expansion compatible with concrete and a minimum 28-day compressive strength of 5000 psi. Repair material shall be mixed, extended, applied, and cured per manufacturer’s recommendations. Location 3 - Curwensville Dam: Surface preparation and application of a new coating system to the Curwensville Dam Service Bridge. Surface preparation includes power washing of the existing coating system. |
