Description

The scope of services may include, but not be limited to, pre construction services, construction estimating, value engineering, bid preparation, construction management, generation and update of project schedules, cost control and progress reports. The Volusia County School Board is interested in entering into a contract with a qualified construction management firm to provide services of a specified nature as outlined in the contract to be entered into, the form of said contract being attached hereto, said services consisting of providing construction management services for renovations and additions at Orange City Elementary, 555 East University Avenue, Orange City Florida. The anticipated scope of the Project will consist of the demolition of the approximately 28,000 square feet of existing building space or as recommended by Castaldi analysis the addition of approximately 55,200 square feet of new construction and the renovation of approximately 19,000 square feet, to accommodate approximately 650 700 student stations and new parent pick up drop off loop. New construction shall be built to meet High Performance Building Criteria the building envelope shall be constructed using high-mass wall construction techniques, moisture and infiltration strategies, and insulation strategies to achieve a building envelope air leakage maximum of 0.20 CFM/SF and an EUI of less than 25. Construction shall be on an occupied campus. Work will be phased as necessary in order to prevent interruptions of student and staff services. Schenkel & Shultz, Inc. is the architect of record. The estimated construction budget is $21,000,000. Inquiries regarding this RFQ shall be in writing via email to Janice Lucas, Planning & Business Services, jllucas@volusia.k12.fl.us. Email must be time and date stamped no later than 3:00 PM on July 28, 2022. The School Board of Volusia County Florida reserves the right to waive any informality in the selection process and to reject any or all submittals in the best interest of the School District.
