A 45,360 sf, one-story building including, but not limited to, poured concrete footings and foundation walls, concrete slab-on-grade, loadbearing exterior masonry walls with both brick and metal panel exterior finishes, interior metal stud framed and CMU walls, steel truss framed roof structure, polished concrete, metal fabrications, architectural casework, a membrane roofing system, wood and hollow metal doors and frames, overhead coiling doors, vault doors, sectional doors, aluminum-framed storefronts, interior architectural finishes, building specialties, equipment and furnishings, food service equipment, metal building systems, fire suppression system, variable volume, gas-fired heat, DX electric cooling rooftop units equipped with energy recovery wheels, variable-volume terminal units equipped with electric reheat, electric unit heaters, variable volume kitchen hoods, photovoltaic system, earthwork, exterior improvements, site utilities, and other associated mechanical, plumbing, electrical, communications, electronic security systems, and civil work Alternate Bid No.1: Provide 6" PCC in lieu of Gravel for POV Parking. Alternate Bid No.2: Provide 8" PCC in lieu of Gravel for MOV Parking. Alternate Bid No.3: Emergency Generator. Alternate Bid No.4: Training Bay Addition. Alternate Bid No.5: Security Fence Addition. Bids received will be opened and read aloud at the time and place stated. Late bids will not be considered. Bids must be hand-delivered (bids received via mail, delivery service, oral, telephonic, facsimile or other electronically transmitted bids will not be accepted). Interested parties are invited to attend. Bids shall be submitted on the Bid Form and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in Iowa, cashier's check or a certified check drawn upon a solvent bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, made payable to Iowa Department of Public Defense; as a guarantee that the accepted bidder shall enter into a contract with the State of Iowa and file an approved surety company Performance and Payment Bond for the faithful performance thereof. Upon failure to comply, said check or bid bond shall become forfeited as liquidated damages. Any construction contractor performing work in Iowa (including out-of-state contractors) must comply with Chapter 91C of Iowa Code The Iowa Department of Public Defense reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive irregularities and to accept a bid that is deemed in the best interest of the State of Iowa and the IANG.
