Description

Install a complete turnkey Cellular Connected Vehicle (C-V2X) Technology System Deployment Solution that will utilize our existing infrastructure, ATMS and fiber optic cable IP communication network. This project will provide and install twenty-five (25) In-vehicle Emergency Connected Vehicle System Vehicle Device (ECVSVD), a GPS-based system, to operate an Emergency Vehicle Pre-emption System. The portable devices will be installed in the emergency vehicles designated by Cary staff during the project but shall be inform in application and will not require special installation methods or materials. This project will install one hundred (100) School Zone Flasher CV Communication Units . The units will function with solar power and include knock down device to warn staff when the pole is hit. The goals are to support nearby schools and be able to change school schedule remotely. This project will install fifteen(15) Rectangle Rapid Flashing Beacon Units. The units will function with solar power and include knock down device to warn staff when the pole is hit. The unit will be installed at existing pedestrian crossings with Rectangle Rapid Flashing Beacon, RRFB, systems. This project will install four (4) DSRC OBUs to continue testing/monitoring the existing DSRC technology on NC 55 and High House Rd. To view the SPaT and MAP messages using existing DSRC technology, Onboard Units (OBU) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) are required inside test vehicles.
