Description

The project consists of demo of the existing kiln yard and student courtyard areas in the Home Arts building. Construction of a new kiln yard area with three new kilns surrounded by a new masonry wall, a new roof structure, and a new Home Arts courtyard consisting of softscape and hardscape student areas. Scope of work also includes upgrades in the existing student parking lot and restrooms. Each party submitting a bid on the PROJECT ("BIDDER(S)") must post a bid bond or other security in the amount of 10% of the amount of the bid with the bid. Each BIDDER, simultaneously with the execution of the Contract (See General Conditions, Article 1, subjection d for definition), will be required to furnish a Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price, as well as, a Faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price. Said Bonds shall be from an admitted California Surety satisfactory to the DISTRICT and listed in the Federal Register, issued by the Department of Treasury and licensed in California. Said Bonds shall remain in full force and effect through all guarantee and/or warranty periods stated in the Project Documents. Use of the bond forms, without variations, as set forth in Section 11 is mandatory. The BIDDER represents and warrants that all subcontractors and sub-subcontractors shall be properly licensed at all times during performance of the Contract. "The prime contractor shall possess a "B License" for this contract/project. For this contract/project, all work requiring a specialty license and/or certification under applicable law shall be performed by subcontractors (to the prime contractor) who possess the required specialty licenses and/or certifications, unless the prime contractor itself holds such specialty license(s) and/or certification(s), in which case the prime contractor can self-perform such portions of the work under such specialty license(s) and/or certification(s). At the time of submitting its bid, the prime contractor shall list all work requiring a specialty license and/or certification and identify: (1) who will perform each portion of such work; and (2) the corresponding specialty license/certification, including the number and holder thereof. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the bidders bid being deemed non-responsive." This PROJECT has 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation goals. J.
