Description

Scope of Work Architect Engineer (A/E) team, including architects, engineers, surveyors, and professional consultants shall provide design services for the development of specifications and drawings for the removal of two (2) 25,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs) used to store petroleum and the installation of one (1) new 25,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST), UG fuel piping, pumps, and controls. Atlanta VAMC uses four (4) Cleaver Brooks high-pressure, 10,000 BTU/hr, dual-fuel fired, fire tube boilers installed in 2015. Based on historical consumption data, the facility requires 6348 MMBTU to operate for 10-days in January. At 0.1396 MMBTU/gal, the facility requires 45,5000 gallons of fuel for 10-days of normal operation. A third existing 25,000-gal UST (Fuel Tank #3) is scheduled to be re-commissioned in 2023. One (1) additional 25,000-gal fuel supply tank is needed to provide required 10-day reserve fuel supply to the boiler plant, per VHA Directive 2008-062. The project includes the demolition of two (2) existing 25,000-gal, steel USTs (Fuel Tanks #1 and #2), installation of one (1) new direct-bury, double wall fiberglass type with interstitial monitoring tank-mounted submersible issue pumps and flexible fuel line.
