Description | Renovate the historic Indianola Middle School (previously owned by Columbus City Schools) to house 720 students in grades 6 through 12 for the Metro Early College High School. Indianola Middle School, currently leased from Ohio State University, is approximately 92,230 square feet and is located at 420 East 19th Avenue Columbus, OH, on a 7.6-acre parcel near the Ohio State University campus. The building is a three-story masonry bearing structure designed in the Art Deco style and is designated as an historic structure on the National Register of Historical Places by the National Parks Service. The building has been out of operation for several years. The foundations are concrete, walls are brick masonry, and the floors are poured concrete. The roof structures consist of steel bar joist with wood gable end rafters, roofing systems consist of asphalt built-up, ballasted rubber, and slate shingle, all in varying stages of disrepair.
