North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources Tryon Palace - History Center Site Repairs

The correction of hurricane damaged sidewalks, terraces, and ramps at the Tryon Palace History Center including the following work: 1. Demolition and reconstruction of concrete ramps and ramped sidewalks including the reconstruction of damaged subsurface storm water piping serving downspouts penetrating the ramped surfaces. A portion of this work will include the removal and resetting of an existing railing, trench drain, and plantings. 2. Partial demolition of exposed aggregate concrete sidewalks and terraces and their reconstruction. 3. Removal, regrading, and resetting of concrete pavers. 4. Structural stabilization of two sets of concrete steps. This activity requires the removal and replacement of the adjacent trench drains. 5. Removal and replacement of existing sealants where the sidewalks, terraces, or steps have subsided causing the sealants to have broken their seal.
