Description

Contractors are invited to bid on the Forensics Window Sill Mortar Repair for Buildings and General Services at 45 State Drive in Waterbury, Vermont. This project consists of, but is not limited to: 1. Summary of work: Renovation of all precast stone sills at the Forensics Laboratory building at 45 State Drive in Waterbury, VT for improvements to the underlying drainage, mortar bed, and weeps and to complete an aluminum flashing cap. 2. The work shall include, but not be limited to (this scope nearly matches 4-16 of General Notes on A104 & General Notes on the Cover): 2.1 Reuse of existing metal aluminum window system flashing 2.2 Removal and cleaning of the cast stone sills 2.3 Removal of bed joint mortar between cast stone and through wall flashing 2.4 Temporary displacement of the existing through wall membrane and stainless flashing under the cast stone sill upward to allow work on mortar below. 2.5 Removal of existing mortar under the stainless-steel flashing above the top brick course 2.6 Provision of new mortar on brick sloped to drain to exterior. 2.7 Replacement of existing through wall membrane and stainless-steel flashing with improved sloped drainage to exterior 2.8 Installation of integral weep drainage material along the entire length of stainless- steel flashing indicated in the elevations with appropriate mortar infill. 2.9 Reinstallation of cleaned cast stone sills that were removed earlier. 2.10 Installation of adhered painted aluminum flashing on top of the cast stone sill and related backer rod and sealant work joint 2.11 Reinstallation of aluminum window system flashing into location. 2.12 The extent of the work is at all cast stone sills on the building addition. Refer to the drawings for graphic depiction of the work area. The east and west walls are continuous sills accessible from the ground. The south wall has individual sills in separate masonry openings. 2.12.1 Patch and repair all surfaces/materials that are damaged by demolition. Patch and repair any cracks, dings, holes, etc., not related to demolition, all exposed surfaces. 2.13 Proposed Schedule: Construction Substantial Completion by: 8/30/2023.
