Description | This BVB is being advertised to secure the services on nineteen (19) instrument air systems to move wastewater around the City for treatment and return ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. MWBE Goal: 1% Pre-bid Questions Deadline: Tuesday, February 28, 2023 (4:00 p.m.) This contract covers the general requirements for the disconnecting, transporting, inspecting, repairing and/or replacing and testing of various instrument air system types located at Wastewater Operations facilities. At a minimum, Contractor shall replace all bearings and seals and the lube reservoir of the repaired instrument air systems/diesel engine shall be flushed clean and filled with the OEM-specified lubricants after reassembly. The intent of this contract is for the Contractor to disconnect, inspect, remove, and/or install, transport, repair and/or replace instrument air systems at the Wastewater Operations' or Contractor's facilities. This specification defines minimum acceptable requirements for the repair of the units and documentation of those repairs as specified in Exhibit B7 (Invoice Checklist). This includes, but is not limited to, valves, pumps, switches, cylinders, filters, pistons, seals, bearings, motors, integral diesel engines, air dryers, gearboxes, couplings, packing or discharge check, and electrical/mechanical work. Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, parts, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, engineering, and facilities necessary to provide precise repair and replacement services for air instrument air systems at various facilities of Wastewater Operations (WWO). The City shall monitor the repair of their instrument air systems on a daily basis. The meaning of some specific terms as used in this contract is given in Exhibit A, (Definitions). The instrument air systems covered by this contract are grouped to accordingly to the air system's type and size of the units provided in Exhibit A (Definitions). After parts have been repaired, the Contractor shall: a) Balance all individual parts and components, then reassemble, test, seal and paint, as required; b) All assembled rotating parts shall be dynamically balanced; and c) All damaged and replaced parts that are deemed non-repairable shall be delivered to a designated location specified by the department representative. After uncoupling the unit, Contractor shall install blinds to ensure that all openings to pipes, inlet and discharge dampeners/silencers, and filters are blocked to prevent entry by rodents and birds. Contractor shall provide the Director or his designee a list of the names and locations of all shops and subcontractors used for the specified repair work prior to the commencement of any work.
