Asphalt Resurfacing

As of March 21, 2023, project was awarded to Lindy Paving, Inc., awarded amount is $12,971,237.08. Asphalt Resurfacing Between Milepost M-39.82 and Milepost M-44.75 in Washington County This contract provides for asphalt resurfacing of the Turnpike roadway. Work will also include milling and paving of interchange ramps, shoulder backup, guide rail end treatment updates, repair to drainage inlets. Maintenance and protection of Turnpike traffic is also included. Work items include but are not limited to: 189,109 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface, 4" Depth 4,854 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course, PG 64E-22, 10 to <30 Million ESALS, 9.5mm Mix, SRL-E 27,843 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course, PG 64E-22, 10 to <30 Million ESALS, 19.0mm Mix 13,460 TON Stone Matrix Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course, RPS 64E-22, 9.5mm Mix, SRL-E 47 EACH Inlet Repairs 6,105 LF Type 31-S Guide Rail 18,304 SY Shoulder Backup 229,549 LF 4" Standard Pavement Markings, Paint & Beads 135,951 LF 6" Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Marking 80,476 EA Sonic Nap Alert Pattern (S.N.A.P.) Milepost M-39.82 is located approximately 0.62 miles north of Charleroi / Donora Interchange, Exit 39, and Milepost M-44.75 is located at the southern limit of the Joe Montana Bridge in Washington County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
