Description

In general, this work for the total base bid segment consists of: 1. Enclose work area with black filter fabric fencing and orange plastic construction fencing throughout construction prior to beginning clearing and grubbing or demolition. 2. Protect trees, shrubs, lawns, and utilities outside of detention pond upper bank. 3. Install, maintain, and remove stabilized construction entrance/exit and 4. Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program elements (Appendix B). 4. Implement and maintain a traffic control plan and pedestrian control plan. 5. Remove, by clearing and grubbing, any trees and shrubs within the upper bank. Contractor to coordinate with Owner and Engineer to remove trees outside or near upper bank. Upper bank shall be sufficiently staked prior to clearing and grubbing to allow Owner to determine which trees to preserve. Remove portions of storm sewer lines, manholes, culverts, outfalls, inactive water lines, existing paving as shown on the plans and dispose of offsite. Remove any existing A.C. waterline and any other utility lines uncovered during excavation and dispose per OSHA standards. 6. Excavate the detention pond to the lines and grades shown on the plans. Haul off and dispose of all unused excavated material offsite, including all unsuitable soils encountered as detailed by Section 02323. 7. Clean the streets every evening after any off-site hauling operations. Excavate unsuitable material beyond proposed grade to install 2-foot thick clay liner. The clay liner will be contained within a boundary 4 feet outside the normal water surface elevation. 8. Placement of 12-inch purple AWWA C-900 reclaimed water line, including bends and fittings, per 30 TAC Chapter 210 regulations, 12-inch gate valves and boxes, and 12-inch wet connections. The existing reclaimed water line material varies between HDPE and PVC pipe. The contractor shall verify the material of the existing reclaimed water line before connection is made. The proposed reclaimed line must be fully functional and operational before the removal of existing reclaimed water line. 9. Install proposed outfall structure, including floatables collection screen, slope paving on upstream and downstream sides, emergency overflow swale, concrete pilot channel, 6-inch thick reinforced concrete, stabilized subgrade, and rip rap. 10. Install proposed storm sewer manholes, junction boxes, inlets, interceptor structures, HDPE and RCB pipes. 11. Install rip rap at the upstream transition of existing ditch to proposed pond, as directed in the plans, and at all interceptor structure pipes and storm outfall pipes, as directed by Engineer. 12. Install 6-inch thick, 10-foot wide reinforced concrete access drive along the high bank of the detention pond to proposed detention pond outfall structure and emergency overflow swale, including 4-inch PVC irrigation sleeves under the proposed concrete access drive, perpendicular to proposed hose bibs, for future irrigation connections. 13. Remove and replace damaged portions of existing sidewalks. Haul in, place and install 1-inch compost, mixed with two inches of topsoil, tilled in four to six inches. Then place a 2-inch compost overlay on all areas from the filter fabric fence to the normal water surface elevation of the pond. Alternatively, the Contractor may take soil samples of placed topsoil for soil testing. Based on the results of the soil test and with the approval of the Owner’s representative, topsoil may be amended to address any soil deficiencies that would prohibit the growth of the seed. 14. Place native grass seed mix, wildflower mix, and/or cereal rye in the area within the filter fabric fencing to the top boundary of the wetland area after seed bed is prepared, as directed by Engineer. 15. Apply hydro mulch to all seeded areas. In general, this work for the total federally funded pond amenity bid segment consists of: 1. Additional maintenance of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) installed under the total base bid segment, for the purpose of the Federal Grant Funds, as directed by Engineer. 2. Additional maintenance of traffic control plan, for the purpose of the Federal Grant Funds, as directed by Engineer. 3. Install PVC conduit for future aeration system, including pull string, cap both ends, and marking end locations with a PVC pipe. 4. Install 2-inch purple polytubing reclaimed irrigation line and appurtenances and connect to proposed system, including a meter and vault. 5. Install 6-inch thick, 10-foot wide reinforced concrete trail along the high bank of the detention pond, including 4-inch PVC irrigation sleeves under the proposed concrete trail, perpendicular to proposed hose bibs, for future irrigation connections. 6. Install proposed parking lot, driveway, and sidewalks to grade, including curbs, as directed in the plans. 7. Remove and replace damaged portions of existing sidewalks and driveways.
