Description | For Replacement Flooring Services This Public Works Bid is for Replacement Flooring Services to be provided at the Veterans Home of California-Barstow. Project comprises labor and services necessary for: Remove existing flooring, base and any other loose underlayment from shown areas and replace with new flooring, base and floor transitions as shown in attached drawings. The contractor is responsible for meeting all of the licenses and certifications required to perform the scope of services set forth in this solicitation. Services would be held at Veterans Home of California - Barstow, located at 100 East Veterans Parkway, Barstow, CA 92311. Deadline for Questions Date: January 12, 2023 Deadline for Responses to Questions Date: January 17, 2023 License required to bid the project: Class C-15 - Flooring and Floor Covering. Work can be performed under a licensed sub-contractor; they must be identified on Bid Form Contractors license number. Successful bidder shall furnish payment and performance bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price. Bid Security shall be a minimum of ten percent (10%) of the bid. Bid Security may be bidders bond, cashiers check, certified check or cash. Personal checks will not be accepted. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids and waive any irregularity in any bid received. The Contractor shall comply with Labor Code Sections 1774 and 1775. Pursuant to Section 1774, the Contractor and every subcontractor, regardless of tier, shall pay not less than the specified prevailing wage rates to all workers employed in the execution of the Contract. In accordance with Section 1775, the Contractor shall forfeit to the State up to $200 for each day, or portion thereof, for each worker paid less than the prevailing wage rates for the work or craft in which the worker is employed for any work executed under the Contract by the Contractor or by any subcontractor, regardless of tier, in violation of the provisions of the Labor Code; and, in particular, Labor Code Sections 1770 to 1780, inclusive. In addition to such forfeiture, the difference between such stipulated prevailing wage rates and the amount paid to each worker for each day, or portion thereof, shall be paid to each underpaid worker by the Contractor. This provision shall not apply to properly registered apprentices. Bids may be rejected if they show any alteration of form, additions not called for, conditional bids, incomplete bids, erasures, or irregularities of any kind. If bid amount is changed after the amount is originally inserted, the change must be initialed. |
