Description | The County of Hancock hereby solicits bids for the repair and replacement of the "Hancock County Middle roof and Accessory roofs" (Associated roofs are to be the Elevator tower roof and the Court clerks ramp roof). The work will take place at the Hancock County Courthouse located at 50 State St Ellsworth Maine 04605. This project will be regularly inspected by county officials and demands high quality workmanship. Work can commence as early as April 15, 2023 and completed by September 30, 2023. The County of Hancock reserves the right to ask questions of any party post-bid opening, and select or reject any bid, all actions without cause or reason. Please contact the Hancock County Facilities Director at (207) 667-1409 if there are questions. a. The existing roof membrane shall be removed along with any unnecessary roof penetrations. Any openings shall be sealed and insulated as to become a flush surface consistent with the rest of the roof surface. The roof, and accessory roofs, shall be removed and disposed of in a manner that is safe and efficient. The work shall be performed by licensed qualified personnel, and shall include adequate preparations for the installation of the proposed repairs and resurfacing. Unexpected damage shall be repaired on a time and material basis, approved by the owner b. The tapered roof layout shall include a minimum of 2 layers of 2.5 inch insulation adhered to the deck and shall direct surface water to the appropriate drain. c. The membrane shall be of first quality EPDM, a minimum of.060 thickness or equivalent, and shall be installed per manufacturer specifications. d. The Membrane shall be inspected and approved for full warrantee e. All penetrations shall be flashed and sealed with material that provides the same or similar warrantee as the newly installed membrane. The use of pitch pockets and or "witches hats" shall be determined to provide the most durable finish. Minimum flashing thickness is to be .032 f. Sidewall and parapet terminations shall be of aluminum flashing with a minimum.032 thickness and shall be installed to provide full warrantee and durability g. All work shall conform to all applicable building codes, and in the absence of such, shall be consistent with manufacturer's recommendations, industry standards, and/or "best practices". |
