Description

The District will accept bids from only qualified contractors with a minimum 5-years experience in work required. The successful bidder will be required to furnish both performance and labor-material payment bonds in the full amount of the contract price, as well as certificates of comprehensive general liability, automobile liability and workers compensation insurances. All bidders must be licensed to do business in the State of Ohio at time of bidding. For more information, contact susieb@shaeffer- madama.com. A certified check or bank draft in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, payable to the Barnesville Exempted Village School District, shall be submitted with each bid; or a satisfactory bid bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of Ohio in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid. The certified check, bank draft or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Barnesville Exempted Village School District as a measure of liquidated damages should the bidder fail or refuse to execute the contract within ten (10) days following written notification of acceptance. The bid bond or check of the unsuccessful bidders will be returned when an award is made; that of the successful bidder will be returned when the contract, bonds and insurance requirements are received and approved. After scheduled closing time for receipt of bids, no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days. Completion time is critical to this project and may be a condition of bid selection. Total completion time is sixty (60) consecutive calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed or date of contract, whichever is soonest. The Barnesville Exempted Village School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding. The purpose of the meeting is to familiarize bidders with the requirements and to answer questions regarding the bidding documents.
