Commissioning Agent Services - Newark - Founders Hall Enhancements

The project is located at The Ohio State University at Newark which shares a campus with Central Ohio Technical College in Newark, Ohio. Although administered by OSU-FOD, this project is jointly cost-shared between OSUN and COTC. Any qualification statements and/or presentations should take this into account. The scope will include a renovation of approximately 70,000 square feet within Founders Hall located at 1179 University Drive, Newark, OH 43055. Interior space will need to be re-programmed to meet the campus needs as this is a co-occupied space between The Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College. The project aligns with the 2018-2012 strategic Campus Framework Plan of updating facilities to improve student success and enhance the student experience. This renovation will allow for the Campus to meet growing enrollment as well as expanded academic offerings. This project will address a substantial amount of deferred maintenance by updating the building mechanical systems as well as the envelope of the building. Due to generous philanthropy at the Newark campus, there should be a considerable focus of the design to give the exterior facade a significant improvement in energy savings as well as aesthetics. Along with the facade of the building comes an opportunity to create a more welcoming exterior space/significant landscape feature between the existing Founders Hall and Hopewell Hall using softscape and hardscape to create collaborative exterior areas for students, faculty and staff.
