Description

The proposed work consists of installing equipment that introduces zinc orthophosphate corrosion inhibitor at 7 well sites throughout the County in order to protect distribution system piping and residential piping from corrosion. The improvements are based on the recommendations from an evaluation that was completed to assess JCSA's Central System Source water entry points and water distribution system water quality. The project includes the installation of the chemical feed pumping skids, tanks, piping, and other appurtenances. This project also includes the building, site, electrical, plumbing and control modifications for the additional chemical feed systems.The well sites are as follows: W-1 Owens Illinois W-4 Pottery W-5 Ewell Hall W-22 Canterbury Hills W-25 Stonehouse W-33 Fords Colony W-38 Kristiansand Bid Security in the amount of Five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Performance and Payment bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract will be required by the Owner prior to Contract Award. The cost of bonds is to be included with the bid price. All questions pertaining to this project should be directed to Caprice White, Senior Purchasing Specialist no later than 12:00 P.M., on October 21, 2022 in writing by e-mail: caprice.white@jamescitycountyva.gov. Addendum will be issued by James City County Purchasing. James City County is soliciting Two-Step sealed competitive bids from qualified and experienced professional contractors licensed in the state of Virginia with the demonstrated capability and capacity for the Central System Water Treatment Improvements as described in this Invitation for Bids.
