RFQ D/B - Golf Course - Varsity Practice Greens

This project scope shall consist of re-working the existing varsity golf short game practice area on The Ohio State University's Golf Course located in Upper Arlington Ohio. Scope will convert an existing (1) larger green/ practice area into 3 smaller greens complete with new sand and grass bunkers, turf and drainage systems. It is anticipated that Irrigation systems for the area will need to be reworked. In addition to the short game practice area, scope may include the addition of a putting green and re-work of adjoining tee boxes (these scopes being add alternates to the base scope practice area). In 2005 and 2006, The Ohio State University Golf Course underwent a major restoration that was overseen by Jack Nicklaus (Nicklaus Design, LLC). Nicklaus Design will be involved in the project and will be acting in a Criteria Architect role, setting the parameters for how the area will look, feel, and function. It is anticipated that the successful design build contractor shall retain engineers of record (Civil/ MEP / Irrigation) as well as golf course contractors/ turf installers (if they do not function as a golf course contractor/ installer as a primary means of business) underneath of their scope of services. Engineers will be responsible for charting and integrating concepts provided by Nicklaus Design into final construction documents and will be in charge of administering the project through the construction phase. All vendors housed within the design build contractor's scope will be subject to review by the University and authorized for work on the golf course based on applicable previous golf course experience.
