Answers will be provided to all Respondents who have been placed on the official plan holders' list in the Teller County Public Works no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday May 30, 2023. All requests should be directed to Bryan Kincaid, ROW Supervisor, at (719) 687-8812 A PRE-BID CONFERENCE is not scheduled PROJECT DESCRIPTION I. Chip Seal overlays Teller County is soliciting bid proposals from qualified companies to provide Chip and Seal overlays on approximately twelve and three-quarters (12.75) miles of County roads on CR 1, CR 11 and CR 42. The County is currently making patch repairs on these roads and that process is anticipated to be completed no later than Friday June 30, 2023. These chip seal overlays could begin any time after that. Note: If County crews finish the patch repairs earlier than June 30, 2023, the successful Contractor could begin sooner. CR 1, 4.91 miles in length, this section will commence at it's intersection with Ranch Resorts Drive, mile point 8.53, and proceed northerly to mile point 13.44 (at it's intersection with N. Mountain Estates Rd). CR 11, 4.16 miles in length, this section will commence at it's intersection with CR 112 (both legs of the Y intersection) , mile point 6.60, and proceed northerly 4.11 miles to mile point 10.71 (at it's intersection with CR 1). CR 42, 3.73 miles in length, this section will commence at it's intersection with CR 1, mile point 0.00, and proceed easterly to mile point 3.73 (just east of it's intersection with Trout Haven Road). The roads will be chip and sealed with either a 3/4 " or 1/2 " rock chip material, at County's option. All roads will be chip and sealed with either 3/4 " or 1/2 " rock chip material. Contractor will assure prior to the placement of the hardsurfacing that the surface of roads to which the chip and seal is to be applied is free from any loose material. Roads will need swept at a minimum to ensure this, and more thorough cleaning actions may possibly be required. 15 Upon completion of chip seal activities, and after final sweeping/cleaning activities, Contractor will apply a "fog seal" to the roadway areas that received the chip seal application. Any existing striping pattern(s) will need to be recorded by the contractor prior to commencement of surface work so as to enable duplication of the currently existing striping pattern. Contractor will perform striping operations with CDOT specification epoxy and beads when they fell that it is safe to do so with regards to surfaces being readily available to properly accept the permanent striping operations. Additionally, Contractor will tab road, and layout with paint, so that upon completion of chip seal operations, striping operations that match currently existing pattern, can be duplicated and performed. Current centerline location of roadway will remain centerline location of roadway when complete. Contractor will furnish all materials unless stated otherwise. Teller County reserves the right to select the option or options and bids that provide the most benefit to the County, or to reject all bids. All work will need to be completed no later than Thursday August 31, 2023.
