Description

Bridge Replacement on Smith Valley Road over Louisville and Indiana Railroad, (located approximately 0.46 miles east of US Highway 31 in Johnson County). • Overhead electric lines stay on the alignment as shown on the plans, marked by the OE designation, located approximately 12 feet east of the bridge’s west end bent. • Height from the existing bridge elevation to the electric distribution lines will be around 30 feet. • Height from the existing bridge elevation to the electric transmission lines will be around 45 feet. • Overhead electric lines are not able to be deenergized during construction. • Overhead utilities running east-west along the south side of the bridge will remain in place. • Railroad is open to allowing construction equipment within their right of way, up to 14 feet from the tracks.
