DNR - Red Hills - Trace Inn Paint

This project will consist of the contractor providing all labor, equipment and materials required to properly clean, prepare the concrete masonry block walls, wood trim and the T-111 wood siding for two coats of exterior paint. Both buildings are located in the same area and both have similar exterior materials. Trace Inn: The exterior of the Trace Inn consist of both painted masonry cinder blocks and T-111 wood siding, along with steel handrails on the east side of the building that need painting, along with a privacy fence located on the northwest corner. This building measures approximately 50’ x 75’. This project will consist of surface preparation, removing loose, cracked damaged or dead paint by professionally cleaning with a pressure washer with hot water and a mild detergent solution or with a commercial product approved by the paint manufacture. Cleaning should remove all persistent dirt, grease, cob webs, and bird droppings, loose, and peeling paint along with other foreign materials to ensure adequate adhesion. Surface conditions must meet specifications outlined by the paint manufacture prior to painting. All steel surfaces must have the loose, cracked or damaged paint removed by scraping and /or wire brushing to bare metal, removing all rust and scale. Touch up bare metal with a primer compatible with the paint being used. All surfaces must be dry, clean, and free of oil and grease prior to painting. All wood surfaces must be primed prior to painting.
