Water System Improvements Elevated Water Storage Tank

As of August 15, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Generally, the subsurface investigation indicated conditions which should be compatible with the planned tank construction provided the construction is completed in accordance with the recommendations which follow in this report. Please note that our recommendations are site specific and may not be suitable for other types of structures or other locations. Three soil test bores were completed to evaluate the subsurface conditions. Beneath sandy and silty sandy topsoil, the test bores penetrated in-situ earth described as non-cohesive silty sand and cohesive clayey sand, silty clayey sand, and plastic clay. The predominate sand earth is of marginal to good drainage classification. The predominate clay earth is of a poor drainage classification. The test bores indicated low to moderate soil strengths and consolidation characteristics which are not compatible with the use of shallow spread foundations. The planned tank should be supported on a deep foundation system. Alternately, a ground modification system such as Geopiers and shallow foundations maybe used for the tank support. Proposed Total DBE/MBE Participation Goal: 2.5% Proposed Total WBE Participation: Goal: 3.0% The Project consists of constructing a 250,000-gallon steel multi-column elevated water storage tank and necessary appurtenances The owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all bids. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders. Bidders shall submit proof of qualifications to perform the Work as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Contract Time: 240 days Liquidated Damages: $500/day
