5th Ave Pressure Reducing Valve Replacement

The scope of the project is to remove an existing 6-inch Ross Pressure Reducing Valve and pipe spool and replace it with a new 6-inch Cla-Val Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) in an underground vault located at 5th Ave and Bloomfield Alley in the Town of Lyons, CO. 1. Remove the existing 6-inch Ross PRV and pipe spool. 2. Transport and unload the removed 6-inch Ross PRV to the town public works building, 4687 Ute Hwy, coordinate with Town staff regarding specific location. 3. Install the Town furnished 6-inch Cla-Val 100-01 PRV, ANSI class 150. The new PRV is currently stored at the town public works building and will need to be picked up and transported to the valve replacement location by the contractor. 4. Provide and install a new pipe spool to accommodate for the different valve length. 5. Provide and install all required gaskets and bolts for the new PRV and pipe spool installation. 6. Properly clean and disinfect the new valve and pipe spool prior to reconnection. 7. With town staff and assistance, flush the reconnected main at the nearest hydrant. 8. All necessary tools, labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals to complete the existing PRV removal and new PRV installation shall be included in the bid price. 9. Any leakage detected after installation shall be corrected and made water tight. 10. Clean the vault and surrounding work area of any construction debris. 11. Construct all improvements with the Town of Lyons Construction Design Standards
