Description

Mercury Abatement & Floor Removal. Floor Removal – 10,300 sqft (approximate) Demo, Removal, Haul Away and Disposal of Existing Wood Floor Remove cover plates and hardware, then provide to owner TSD (Owner) will coordinate the removal and reinstall of the bleachers. Abatement – 10,300 sqft (approximate) Mercury Abatement, Removal, Haul Away and Disposal of existing rubber based floor containing mercury. 1. Abatement individuals must be trained and certified for removal and disposal of mercury flooring as RCRA hazardous waste. 2. Contractor will be required to provide physical containment barriers to isolate the work area and prevent contamination of the ventilation and building systems. 3. Contractor is responsible for limiting exposure to dust and potentially hazardous mercury vapors by containing and sealing off the work area prior to removal of flooring. This should include physical barriers, pressure differentials, maintenance of negative pressure in the room, and filtration of exhaust air with HEPA filters. 4. Contractor will be required to perform air sampling outside the containment area to monitor air quality. This data must be provided to the district during the removal process. 5. Contractor will be required to perform a visual inspection of dust and debris following removal of rubber flooring and cleaning of the work area. 6. TSD will require that clearance air sampling is performed by the contractor and that the final clearance action levels are < 1 ug/m3 in the work area. Mercury vapor samples must be in compliance with ASTDR and OSHA standards.
