Description

This project, will seek reimbursement, in part or whole from federal funds through the FEMA Public Assistance Program, and as such, bidder must comply with all applicable Federal Law, Regulations, Executive Orders, FEMA policies, procedures and directives. Review all documents, specifications, plans and scope of work provided by MDPROS for Hurricane Irma repairs and / or replacement work to be completed. Perform work at the Tiger Exhibit inside Zoo Miami and follow Zoo staff instructions while working in the park and abide by the attached Contractor parameters document. Furnish all labor, equipment, materials and documentation including photographs required to comply with the intent of the work described in the contract documents including but not limited to: Tiger Temple 1. Repair / replace five (5), 8 ft. long X 8 ft. wide roof top panels at the Tiger Temple Exhibit. a. Reference Attachment ALTERNATE 1. The Contractor shall hire a concrete restoration person / firm to repair, restore storm damaged elements and structure of the Tiger Temple. Scope of work will include replacing all the missing and damaged elements; re-facing; refreshing; and re-sealing the themed surfaces damaged by Hurricane Irma. The concrete restoration contractor / person shall determine and assess the damage(s) sustained by ladder or lift. This concrete restoration contractor / person shall have a minimum of five (5) years verifiable experience working for theme parks, or other Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) zoological institutions. Bidders will be provided with contact information of two (2) Concrete Restoration Specialists which meet the contract qualifications (See Attachment B). The Contractor may propose other Concrete Restoration Specialists, but Zoo Miami will have final approval of the proposed concrete restoration contractor / person suitable. A complete painting, and sealing of the structure is required, along with any necessary sculpting work. This includes pressure cleaning, preparing surfaces and removing all loose or spalling elements. A final sealing coat of a clear acrylic-urethane based coating shall be applied. The concrete restoration contractor / person shall determine the cost of this work which is not attributable to storm damage and this work shall be paid from a separate funding source (non-FEMA).
