Description | Carteret County Government is seeking proposals to Rehabilitate the West Beaufort Water Access in phases located at 120 Town Creek Drive, Beaufort, NC 28516 . Remove and replace all decking boards on the Kayak Launch as well as the middle existing floating dock with pressure treated 2"x6" decking boards and stainless-steel screws. Save and reuse cleats. o Replace missing sections of 2"x12" top-cap near the kayak launch. o Remove and replace the decking boards directly underneath two (2) existing yellow handrails, remount handrails using stainless steel hardware as well as replace two (2) hoop guides as shown on the T dock. o Replace the end banding bumpers and hoop guide on the existing middle floating dock to match. o Demolish the two existing fixed finger piers, while taking special consideration of marine life, in order to design-build two (2) aluminum floating docks with the same dimensions, while saving the seawalls if possible. o The Contractor shall mimic the existing middle concrete ramp leading to the dock on both sides, complying with ADA, as a landing for the entry of the docks. o Remove all existing metal deteriorated bollards and replace with new concrete bollards in the same location. o New piles shall be treated for marine borers in addition to decay and insects. Piles and installation methods shall be designed to withstand currents, wind, waves and uplift due to possible flooding. Piles shall be used as dock supports. o The Contractor will be responsible in receiving an engineer stamp certification for this project therefore all Contractors proposals shall include any and all engineering fees. o The Contractor shall block off the entire location from land and sea to ensure authorized personally entry only during construction. Construction barriers shall be approved by the County. o The Contractor shall verify any and all measurements and material quantities. A Payment Bond is not required. Carteret County Government reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, proposals directed to the best interest of the County. Phase 2 o Parking Lot Redesign - o Remove all wooden post with rope. o Remove all parking curbs including rebar, parking lot signs, post from parking lot and outskirts. o Backfill void near corner of kayak launch. o Using the existing dirt, clean up/grade front islands by main entry and exit. o Prep and pave four (4) sections of islands. o Sealcoat and restripe parking lot as shown. o Furnish and install a total of forty-three (43) yellow parking lot curbs and three (3) blue curbs for accessible spots. o Install retroreflective ground arrows and crosswalks as shown. o Install roughly fifty (50) six-foot (6') 6"x6" pressure treated post fifteen feet (15') apart, per code, install white PVC sleeves and caps on each post (predrill and screw down caps). o Connect 6x6's with one (1) inch rope loosely to allow hang. o Install new signage as indicated on picture below. o Professionally block off the entire location from land and sea to ensure authorized personally entry only during construction. Construction barriers shall be approved by the County. o The Contractor shall verify any and all measurements and material quantities. o Any damages caused by the Contractor shall be the Contractor's responsibility to fix or replace at the County's discretion. o The Contractor shall furnish all materials needed. o The Contractor will be responsible for any location and or survey services, if required. o The Contractor shall obtain the required permits, if required, give all notices to the County POC, and comply with all laws, ordinances, codes, ADA guidelines, rules and regulations bearing on the conduct of the work. No time extensions shall be granted or financial consideration given to the Contractor for time or monies lost due to violations of any such ordinance, code, law or regulations that may occur. o The Contractor shall refer to and sign Attachment A, Federal Contracting Requirements as well as UG Provisions, 2 C.F.R. 200.326 and 2 C.F.R. Part 200, Appendix II, Required Contract Clauses. Completion by - Jun 30, 2023 |
