Description The Project site is located west of Gilchrist on the Bolivar Peninsula in Galveston County, Texas. The 1,400-foot long by 200-foot wide pass extends from the Gulf beach across the peninsula to Rollover Bay. SH 87 crosses the pass on a pile-supported bridge. Construction of the Project will close the pass by filling it with sand after installation of sheet pile walls to stop tidal flow through the pass
