Top of Door Sensors

Design services will require the successful firm to perform a full evaluation of each facility to determine the best course of action forward for both design and construction. Most patient bedrooms are double occupancy, meaning of the combined 881 beds across the hospitals, the door sensors will be installed on approximately 550-doors. The exception is the Moritz Forensic Center at 78 bedrooms, serving as the only maximum-security mental health facility in the state. Additional installation locations will include doors not in the direct line of site of a nurses or monitoring station, or other patient accessible areas. Final counts and locations will be determined during the design and planning process. Product selection is single source and there will not be a need for product selection as part of the design process. Consideration of the technology for operations and support will be an important part of the project and the chosen firm will be required to work closely with the IT leads at each hospital and Central Office for the Department.
