Description | 76003 CTL PROJECT NO: 22050001FTW The funding source for this project is WATER SRF The Contractor shall furnish all labor, insurance, equipment, materials and power for the complete performance of the following project. Plant HVAC Improvement - Ph CS6 023, 024, 025 Consolidation Sewer and Utility Improvements (W. Superior St. from Jackson St. to Harrison St.) as follows: Installation of approximately 400 LF of 6-in. HDPE water main and 2,550 LF of 16-in. HDPE water main installed via HDD methods. Installation of approximately 2,000 LF of consolidation sewer ranging in size from 30-in. to 54-in. and associated structures, and approximately 2,150 LF of storm sewer ranging in size from 12-in. to 30-in. and associated structures both installed via open excavation methods. An 18 ft. x 28 ft. concrete cast-in-place diversion structure will be installed while supporting the existing CSO 024 & CSO 025 piping. Final restoration of the site is included within the project. all in accordance with the Bidding Documents as prepared by City Utilities Engineering. No Bid will be accepted from, or contract awarded to any person, firm, or corporation that is in arrears to the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana, upon any debt or contract, or, who has failed to execute, in whole or in part in a satisfactory manner, any contract with the City; or, who is a defaulter as to surety or otherwise, upon any obligation to the City, or is engaged in litigation with the City. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount no less than one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids for failure to comply with applicable laws and/or with the Instructions to Bidders. The Board also reserves the right to waive any defect in any bid. Installation of a new water main, services, and appurtenances along Superior St., including a six-inch HDPE water main from Jackson St. to Van Buren St. and a 16" HDPE water main from Van Buren St. to Harrison St. The water main shall be connected to existing mains at Jackson St., Van Buren St., and Harrison St. The main shall be pressure tested and disinfected prior to final connection and being put in service. After the new main is in service, the existing 4" main between Jackson St. and Van Buren St., and the 12" water main between Van Buren St. and Harrison St. can be abandoned in place. 1) The new water main needs to be installed prior to sewer installation due to the existing water main being in conflict with the sewer alignment. 2) HDPE water piping and appurtenances will be Owner-supplied. b. Installation of sanitary consolidation sewer and structures from Drop Shaft 07, located near the intersection of Ross St. and Michaels Ave., to CSO 023 at Jackson St. and CSO 024/025 at Ewing St. The consolidation sewer will intercept wet weather flow (combined sanitary sewer and stormwater) and redirect it to the Drop Shaft where it will be conveyed by the 3RPORT tunnel to the wastewater treatment plant. 1) The consolidation sewer will replace the existing 12"-15" VCP sanitary sewer from Structure L06 102 to the new structure DS07-MH-103. The existing VCP sanitary sewer will be abandoned (filled with flowable fill) after the consolidation sewer is in service. 2) The consolidation sewer will connect to the existing regulator structure at CSO 023 (Structure L06 102). The existing regulator structure will be modified to redirect flows to the consolidation sewer, refer to Drawing sheet S-L06-102 for proposed modifications. 3) The consolidation sewer will connect to a new cast-in-place diversion structure at the CSO 024/025 outfall pipes. Refer to Drawing sheet S-DS07-106-1 and S-DS07-106-2 for proposed layout and details. a) The existing storm sewer at the Superior St. and Ewing St. roundabout will need relocated for installation of the consolidation sewer and Structure DS07-MH-106. Refer to Drawing sheet C-108-36 for proposed layout. 4) During connection of the CSO pipes/structures, the Contractor shall be prepared to convey or pump wet weather flows through the CSO pipes/structure. Any work that may affect the use of the combined sewer overflow trunklines shall be completed at times when there is no flow within the sewer. If wet weather is expected, the Contractor shall have provisions in place to allow for the use of the combined sewer overflow or have bypass pumping operations in place that have the ability to convey wet weather flows. Section 01 51 41, Temporary Pumping have estimated flow rates for each sewer trunkline during dry and wet weather. c. Storm sewer shall be installed along Superior St. from Jackson St. to Ross St., along Van Buren St. from Superior St. to Michaels Ave., and at the Ewing St. roundabout. 1) The existing 12"-15" VCP sanitary sewer shall be maintained during installation of the storm sewer unless the consolidation sewer is active |
