Description | As of November 23rd, 2023, project was awarded to Global Contractors, LLC with an awarded amount of $939,933.50. All bids must be properly marked and sealed in accordance with this "Invitation to Bid." Bids must be delivered and received at the City Clerk's office by the above-stated time, regardless of delivery method, including U.S. Mail. All bids will be opened and read publicly aloud immediately following 10:00 a.m. for the City of Kent. The project consists of rectangular rapid flashing beacons to create pedestrian crossings at 4 locations throughout the City of Kent; 104th Ave SE south of 256th St, SE 240th St east of 104th Ave SE, Central Ave N south of Novak Lane, and Central Ave N at Kent Memorial Park. This work will include median construction, corresponding signage, channelization, ped scale lighting, conduit installation, ADA curb ramps, junction boxes, wiring, and pushbutton assembly installation. The Engineer's estimated range for this project is approximately $1 - $1.25 million. Bid documents may be obtained by contacting City of Kent Engineering Department, Nancy Yoshitake at 253-856-5508. Bids must be clearly marked "Bid" with the name of the project on the outside of the envelope, addressed to the City Clerk, 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032-5895. Only sealed bids will be accepted. No facsimiles or electronic submittals will be considered. Copies of the WSDOT Standard Specifications are available for perusal only. Apprentice Utilization Requirements are mandatory for all public works estimated to cost one million dollars or more, in which case no less than 15% of the labor hours must be performed by apprentices. KCC 6.01.030. The City of Kent reserves the right to reject any and all bids on any or all schedules or alternates or to waive any informalities in the bidding and shall determine which bid or bidders is the most responsive, satisfactory and responsible bidder and shall be the sole judge thereof. Note: The award of the contract will not occur until the City of Kent has reviewed all bids for responsiveness and responsibility determinations and the Kent City Council has formally awarded the contract. No plea of mistake in the bid shall be available to the bidder for the recovery of his/her deposit or as a defense to any action based upon the neglect or refusal to execute a contract. Bidders must submit with their initial bid a signed statement as to whether they have previously performed work subject to the President's Executive Order No. 11246. The City of Kent, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the day of bid opening. |
