Little Walnut Creek - Jamestown Tributary Stream Rehabilitation - 5848.026 - City of Austin

This project will stabilize the streambank along the Jamestown Tributary to protect yards, trees, buildings, and infrastructure. The project will also address localized flooding along Jamestown Drive. The Jamestown Tributary is a small creek that flows into Little Walnut Creek. Project Details - Stabilize approximately 2,600 feet of streambank, from Thurmond Drive to Payton Gin Pocket Park, using natural limestone boulders, mechanically stabilized earth walls, and graded slopes. - Upgrade storm drain pipes along Jamestown Drive to reduce localized flooding. - Install a bridge over the creek on Fairfield Drive to reduce flooding over the roadway. - Plant native vegetation along the streambanks and remove large concrete debris. This will restore the natural character of the creek and improve water quality. As of February 15, 2023, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2026 CIP. Construction is scheduled to begin Winter 2023/2024 and be completed Fall 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
