Description | Work includes felling standing trees, pruning remaining trees, removing ladder fuels, bucking dead and down material, and piling all resulting material on site for future pile burning in deep snow conditions. All work must be conducted in a manner that protects rare plants, preserves sensitive wildlife habitat, protects park visitors, and minimizes the aesthetic impacts of the work for our park visitors. The intent is to complete this contract with hand crews using hand carried chainsaws and/or non-motorized tools, off road vehicles are not permitted. Future pile burning will be conducted by Rocky Mountain National Park personnel and is not part of this contract. The Lily Lake Deep Fuels Reduction Project is approximately 599 acres, broken up into 9 Blocks, Blocks A through I. |
