Description

The Town of Chestertown intends to mill and repave various streets inside the Town limits. The Town will use the Maryland State Highway specifications for milling and repaving. Milling will be to a nominal depth of 1" across the entire street width as it is currently paved (Whether curb to curb or gutter pan to gutter pan) and will be the property of the Contractor. Resurfacing will be 1.5" nominally across the entire street as it was previously paved. Asphalt mix used will MD SHA approved SHA 9.5mm PG64s-22. Contractor to provide the MD approved mix design prior to paving. Compaction to be per Section 504 of the most current version, at the time of bid, of the MD SHA Standards and Specifications, (except where the Town specifically waives vibratory compaction due to the presence of underground utilities or historic homes). Contractor to provide density gauge readings at two locations per block paved, at locations no closer than 100 feet apart. The Contractor will be expected to raise or lower all valves and manhole covers to be flush with the final pavement. Any existing road paint including center lanes or parking space markings will be repainted with the final project. All streets in Phase 1 of this contract must be resurfaced by December 1, 2022.
