Oxford Street Sidewalk Improvement Project

The project area includes the sidewalk on the south side of Oxford Street from Wilmot Street to Cedar Street, with some additional ramps on the north side of the street. The project includes, but, is not limited to the following items: 1. Demolition of existing sidewalk, including brick, bituminous and concrete segments. 2. Reduction of the grade of the sidewalk by approximately one foot along three blocks of the project area. 3. Installation of new reinforced concrete sidewalk, as well as some small sections of brick sidewalk reconstruction. 4. Installation of new and reset granite curbing. 5. Construction/re-construction of pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards. It is expected that meeting ADA standards may be challenging in some locations within the project area due to complexities of existing grading and site features, but doing so is critical to the project. 6. Replacement of and installation of new drainage structures. 7. Reconstruction of several driveways to match proposed grades behind the back-of-sidewalk.
